Axle Ratings 2016 Eagle 321 RSTS

Just discovered we have two 6K axles on are camper. Seems pretty light camper is 10K empty. Add fresh water seems like we are close to maxed out! Any one have 7K axles? Thanks

Your GVWR for that trailer is 12500lbs. Being a fifth wheel 15 to 25% of the weight will be carried by the tow vehicle. So the most your axles should ever carry is 10625lbs if you never overload it. You have a pretty good safety margin there. Most trailers have axles that are underrated for their GVWR but more than enough when you account for the tongue weight or pin weight.

Cheers

You need to deduct the pin weight from your UVW. If your 321 weighs 11500 loaded and the pin is 2300 then you need to deduct the 2300 from the 11500. Thats 9200lbs on the axles. Well under your 12,000 lb axle max.

Your axles are actually oversized for your GVW. Actually surprised Jayco didn't specify 5200 lb axles.
