Axle recall.

I received a recall on my 2014 Siesmic 3210. Supposedly the axles are not the correct ones. There supposed to be 8000 lb a els. I can't recall if mine are 6 or 7000 lbs axles.

My question is will the do a field change out because I live in my RV Full time.. I have no truck to take to them plus I don't believe it should be put on me. It's there screw up not mine.

Does anyone have any knowledge on the question if they do field service work on recalls?

Thanks for your time..

You can ask but I'm pretty sure you will have some out of pocket expense. It's not their fault you don't have a truck to pull it to a service facility to get it fixed, similar to any warranty issue. They will resolve the problem but your responsibility to get it there.

X-2

If you read your owner's manual in 2014 it clearly stated that your rig was not designed for "FULL TIME USE" as well.

We had to have the sidewall crack repair under warranty. Jayco would have picked it up and returned it to a dealer of my choice. Because we are full time, it was incumbent on us to get it to a recommended repair facility. The most expensive part of the whole ordeal was boarding the four cats for two weeks.

Maybe a jayco owners forum member nearby to lend a hand? You're located in Mim's? As in Mims Australia?

Well when you move to a different job and you need a place to lay your head you do what you gotta do. And for you to make that remark without knowing the facts speaks volumes . The conversation wasn't about full time living.. I appreciate your two cents but you go on ahead and keep it.

I disagree.. I didn't manufacture the unit with the wrong axles. So I shouldn't have to bear any cost..

Your first contact would be the local dealer. They may arrange to have jayco cover it as a mobile warranty repair or jayco may cover the dealer to tow it in. Or the dealer may tow it to and from as a good will gesture. Or you may have to pay the dealer to transport it, which wouldn't be much. You could always pay the mobile fee from the dealer as well. I wouldn't think that would be much as the labor and parts are paid via the recall.

As said, the dealer and manufacturer isn't responsible to transport your unit for warranty or recall repairs. Being nice and polite will definitely help when you talk to the dealer and/or Jayco about it. There is always a way, maybe not your ideal way.
