Best truck tires

I have a 2021 Jayco Eagle HT. 28.5. I'm pulling it with a 2019 F250 HD. Any recommendations on the best tires to get for my truck?

To subjective, I like Michelin, my friend swears by Firestone.
I've had good milage and no problems with mine.
Oh, I drive a brick 8200 lb diesel Excursion.

Exactly. In fact I've had zero luck with Michelin and will never buy another of their products. But, have had great luck with Firestone.

If you have a Discount Tire or similar, start there. They sell thousands, actually hundreds of thousands of tires and their opinion is much more educated that those here who buy 4 tires every 5 years.

And now a third opinion, for what it's worth, I've had great luck with both.. Cars, trucks and MH's. So flip a coin I guess?

I really never had a tire that I regretted because if I had a problem I took it back to Discount and they changed them out. I think I had one set that cupped and I did not like. They were replaced within 5000 miles at no cost to me.

Goodyear fan here. On my truck and on my trailers. I've gotten great customer service from a neighborhood shop. I put 50,000 miles on the factory Hankook and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. The technology has been around a long time. I'm brand agonistic on tires.

Welcome to the JOF! One of the best tires for me is the Cooper Discovery a/t's III, but I think that if you stay with the poplar brands out there you want have any problem and alse different tires is for different purpose. What are you looking for in a tire, the Cooper for me give me a mix of terrain.

I ran Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires for years and loved them. When it was time to replace them, it turned out Michelin doesn’t make them in my size anymore. I listened to my America’s (Discount) Tire salesman who recommended Bridgestone Dueler. We’d had great luck with Bridgestones on our CR-V, so figured I’d listen to him. They’re OK and wearing well, but don’t handle worth a S***. I’d strongly recommend Defenders, if you can get them.

I've had great handling and wear with the Michelin LTX A/T2's that came with my truck. I was looking at Consumer Reports and they rated the Continental Terraincontact HT and AT as the best truck tires to include the quietest rating. I look for tires that are quiet and handle well. I've ordered a new F350 and it will probably come with Bridgestone Dueler's. If it does it's going straight to Costco for probably some Michelin's.

X2 on the Defenders. I've had them on my F-250 for about 6K now. Quiet highway tire and great wet traction.

A lot of opinions on different brands. As a Tire Design engineer I can say that there is not a lot of difference between the major tire companies. What is most important is that you be sure to have the proper inflation in your tires ALL THE TIME.
To know what the proper inflation is you need to know the actual load on your tires which can only be accomplished by getting your RV on a heavy duty scale.
Once you know the weight the tires need to carry you should review the "Load-Inflation" tables which will tell you the MINIMUM inflation required to support the load. The Load-Inflation tables all follow the same industry guidelines so if you can't find the table for your brand of tires you can use the one published by Goodyear or Bridgestone or Continental as they are all the same.
The above assumes you have the same size and Load Range as provided by the RV manufacturer. You can find that information on your RV Certification label which has a lot of important information.

I have had good luck with Michelin. On my fourth set over the years. They wear great. They are more expensive up front but last longer.

As long as they're inflated, rotated, and balanced, I've had decent luck for 60 years with any of the round ones I've ever had. Some are noisier than others have been about the only complaints. Now, for my race cars, a different story...brand and design actually matter.

We had a rear tire go bad on the way into Florida yesterday while towing the rig at 63 mph. Came off a bridge on I95 and there was a sharp drop then the truck felt like a death wobble for a few seconds. I slowed down and had a bouncing vibration at 45 mph. We went to a tire shop and sure enough the left tire was misshapen. Belt separated. The set of Nitto’s were 4 years old and all 4 will be replaced tomorrow with Coopers.
Also a front end alignment.

I have Falken Wild Peak LT AT's on my RAM, quiet and ride really well. I'll buy another set when these wear out.

More power to you if you are still racing in at least your 80's!

I used to own a tire business and have experience with many brands. To me, asking a regular consumer what brand tire is best is like asking what's better, Chevy, Ford or Dodge? Everyone will have a different opinion. Ask a high volume used car dealer and you'll probably get a better informed answer when they talk about customer returns & problems. Same with tires. As CAG said earlier, ask a big dealer like Discount Tire Direct or Tire Rack. Both have highly trained techs on their 800 lines who can help you decide at no cost for their expertise. Both are great at helping you decide. You don't even have to wind up buying from them to get their input. I don't think you should listen to one person who dislikes Michelin because they had one problem. They are one of the best brands overall.

I'm pulling a 2019 Jayco HT 25.5 REOK with a 2019 Ram 2500 and have been running KUMHO Road Venture AT52 for the past year. They are an all weather tire and so far have been wearing well. They give a smooth and quiet ride.

What is wrong with using the tires selected by Ford Engineers and designed specifically for the F250?
