Carpet curling - it's too long

I just took delivery of new 317RLOK Eagle - when the slide is retracted on the driver side the edge of the carpet pushes up against the island (carpet is about 1 1/2" too long) - when the slide is extended the edge of the carpet remains curled up. Have not taken back to the dealer yet - has anyone else seen this?

Our 2017 Eagle 330RSTS TT passenger side slide out carpet (table/chairs and recliners) curls up against the island when the slide out is closed but it has always flattened out quickly once the slide out is opened. I would bet all Eagles (and probably others with an island and carpeted slide out) do the same thing.

Maybe they changed the carpet supplier in the 2019's where the backing is more prone to remain curled? If so, it may just take a few more open/closes to break down the backing a bit more and allow the carpet to be a bit more flexible? Or is it cold and the carpet remains stiff for a bit longer than it would if it were warmer?

Our 2011 Eagle has rear opposing slides and they have to brought in in the order posted on the sticker. If not, the carpet gets caught and does not go under the couch as it is designed to. We did not know why, until doing it the wrong way once.

On my Northpoint, I have about the same issue as OP. Our main living slide fully retracted, the carpet hits the island. However we have ours "trained" to curl under itself. This way when we fully extend it the carpet will have a small hump in it so to speak but flattens right out after a few hours. When its cold out, it does take a little longer to flatten out, but its not a big deal for us.

Update

I measured the overage - it is 1 1/4” - the island is held down w 8 screws - I went to the dealer today and told them I wanted the island moved 11/4” the other way - it will still leave 1” clearance on the other side for stove and fridge - appt on Feb 12

Angry Curling Carpet

So today I visited the dealer with my new 317RLOK in tow for my appointment that I made in relation to the carpeting curling up against the island. They said that it's normal "they are all like that". They said that Jayco would not reimburse them for the cost to move the island 1 1/4". They tried to tell me that the island would be too close to the fridge but measured and the oven door handle would have been the closest but till have 1" clearance. This is either bad engineering or sloppy assembly. I have written Jayco - will see what happens next.

My 2018 North Point does the same thing...........takes all of 10 minutes to flatten out.........no big deal IMHO.

I have the same issue on my 2019 321 RSTS Eagle. No big deal as others have said. Carpet flattens out quickly. I had an Open Range prior to my Eagle and I had the same issue of the carpet hitting the island.

I have a residential fridge and when the kitchen slide is retracted I have only 1/2 inch between the fridge handle and the island. Would not even consider trying to move the island.........no need to anyway.
