demand water system

We set up on a lot in the Baja California part of Mexico and we have access to a cistern for our water. Up to now I have been pumping the water into our tanks and using the trailers pump. I wonder if anyone has a way to hook up a pump to the cistern and directly to the city water line on the trailer? I would plug the pump into the trailer but I am unsure about the on demand idea. What type of pump would do the job? Has anyone done something similar? Looking forward to some responses.

A flowjet 2840 series would work. Available in 12v, 24v and 120v.

Forgot to mention I have one. It's now in the 4th camper. Why better than the factory pumps for an onboard pump. But would work just like a mini well pump system.
