Welcome aboard! Might as well get the first scratch on day one!
X2, Eternabond is fabulous stuff! You can get it in lots of different widths. In the mean time I would get it dried up and get your tarp on really well before a rain/snow/wind storm comes in and blows it off.
If you decided to do a patch with eternabond, I would also go ahead and tape all the various caulking on top too. This will prevent future leaks.

If you go with your insurance for a new roof, I would strongly recommend a sprayed on roof.
As for the bathroom skylight, Amazon has them, just need to know what size you want.
