Eagle 321 RSTS hot water heater
Having difficulties with water heater. When pressing the electric Water heater button, the LP water heater automatically comes on. Can the electricity only be used to heat the water? Or does both have to be used?

You can use either or both.

Yep, what Mopar_Earl said I was talking to the guy that work in service and for what he was saying that if you use the gas it will heat the water faster, not sure and that but it's food for thought.

Propane recovery rate is much faster than only electric. Using both really increases it. If you want to save LP and take military showers, it will keep up on electric only. Full hooks running the shower continually, you will want both LP and electric.

Yes, if you're going to be using a lot of hot water at a time, run both electric and gas for a quicker recovery. If you're spacing out you're usage, the electric only should do.

I think she's asking if it's normal for the gas to come on when only the electric button is pressed. If I'm reading it correctly, she's asking why the gas comes on when she only wants it to be on electric.

Yes, the gas comes on when I press the electric button. It is not supposed to do that. Someone suggested that it may be wired incorrectly. I didn't know if anyone else has had this problem.

Do you have two switches? One for electric and one for LP in the command center?

Yes, there are 2 switches; 1 for electric and 1 for gas. However, when I press only the electric switch, both switches light up and I hear the LP gas ignite.

Yes, both switches light up when I press only the gas button.
And I can hear the gas ignite for the hot water heater.
