Emergency brake accidentally pulled

Ok ok I知 a bone head...but I知 sure I知 not the first one to do this...
I was unhitching and while rolling the truck forward the emergency brake cable was still connected (7 pin cable also) the cable pulled the connector out of the box. After a couple choice 4 letter words, I put the connector back into the switch.
Question is: will the brakes release on their own or is there something I need to do ?

Don't feel bad, I have done it on more than one occasion.

At least for me, once I reset the connector back into the switch, all was good. I did not have to do anything else.

Just for future knowledge...
When you pull the pin out of the emergency switch it closes the connection and puts power to the trailer brake magnets. Just like your vehicle does but at full power. It will not hurt anything short term.
Pull pin and leave it pulled....
Magnets are going at full power will get hot and likely fail eventually or drain your trailer battery if you are unhooked. Not a good thing.

Now pull the pin and drag the trailer down the road for an hour... Well very different outcome! New magnets, new brake pads, new hubs, new bearings, likely new tires.. Reduced fuel mileage.... And an empty wallet!

Once you reinsert the pin into the switch (it opens the circuit again) and the magnets should release. In cases where the situation went noticed and the magnets remained at full power for a while, 20 to 30 minutes is all it takes, permanent damage can result and I have seen cases where the magnets have become so hot that they fused into position and remain stuck even after the pin is reinserted.
