Extra Wire in Pinbox andLow Voltage at Umbilical

Found a large (10 gauge) white wire up where the umbilical junction box is under the pin box that isn’t connected to anything. Not stripped on the end or anything, just cleanly cut. Wondering if anyone else has seen this or if something has came loose. I made a female 9 pin connector for the umbilical with the power pin and running lights pins connected through a fuse so I could run my cameras while parked at night without the tow vehicle connected. Worked when I made and tested it and two weeks later it won’t. Running lights work fine when connected to tow vehicle thank goodness. Batteries show 13.1 volts at the battery but only a few volts at the umbilical now. Any ideas?

Sounds like the battery charge line or ground by the gauge

What Model do you have?? What color is the wire? I have a 321 RSTS and mine defiantly did not have extra unused wires. I actually fished a 2 gauge from the Battery storage compartment to the pin Box to use for a DC-DC Battery Charger. I would check to make sure you have voltage at your charge line from your tow vehicle. You should be able to find this charge wire behind your battery cut off switch. It's possible the factory goofed and didn't connect it through at the pin box junction.

Sounds like a ground wire.. My Charge line color is Red.. Check wire with ohm meter for ground.. Also check if any voltage is on wire.. Check behind your battery switch panel. you should find 4 breakers and next to it a wire diagram sticker. The wire diagram sticker will tell you which wire is the vehicle charge wire. If it's white then that might tell you what the white wire is.. However, in my experience, White has always been ground.
