Finance rates?

Ok to ask about finance rates here?

Being offered 5.49% for a 180 month term on ~$50k amount by dealer.

More competitive than my credit union.

My credit union offers 4.99 for up to $50K and up to 15 years for new.

CEFCU of Peoria, IL

May have better rates then this.

I like it as they have no fees, no early payoff charges, nice people!

That is about what any body can get, depending on credit score I'd ask for something in the 4.0 to 4.3 range. That was offered in July/August 2017.

It took three attempts but my 45K 180 month loan ended up at 3.49% in 2015. I started with USAA but they were around 6%. The dealer came up with 4% by some small time credit union that I didn't trust. The dealer then came back with a US Bank loan at 3.49%.

I got 2.9 back in February '16 after much haggling. But interest rates have definitely rose since then!

I must live in the wrong part of the USA. In May I received 5.25% for 120 mth. My Credit Score is 892, and the other half is 871. That was from NorthShore Bank. Our Credit union's don't do TT.

Me too! Just financed our new Eagle HT this month and the best rate we could find was 6.5% with a perfect credit rating through Bank of the West! Our credit union and local banks couldn't touch their rate. Still looking to refinance to something more realistic. A year ago we got 3.2%.

Earlier I mentioned about finding a 4 to 4.3% rate. Something to consider, ask about going for a 120 month loan with a balloon at the end. Most people don't keep RV's 10 years and it will lower your payment and also your rate. In the course of 10 years the interest rates may go down, an opportunity to refinance.

And if your like me, there is no way you will spend 10 yrs paying for a toy. Financed for 10, paid it off in 3.

To be clear, I don't have that intention either.

180 months term is a cheap insurance hedge against possible future cash flow issues. The intention is to do principal reduction payments when we can afford to do so, to accelerate the equity gain, but still have the ability to throttle back down if needed.

Because of the trade in value of our current RV, which we paid cash for, we already have a 20% head start on equity, and worst case we should still owe less than retail market value should we decide to selll in 3 years even without principal reductions.

Try Good Sam. Their rates are 4.89. Southeastern Financial is about 4.5%

180 months @ 3.49%. Although we didn't go that long. We got an 8 year loan. But this was the offer for "BIGGER" purchases.

Where did you find that offer?

I received a straight 5.0% in July for 12 years through Bank of the West. The beat USAA and PenFed credit union.

How exactly does that work since credit scores only go up to 850?

Some CU's stay away from rv's. Mine did but I got a good rate at another one. Financed at 5 years and paid off in 18 months. Simple interest.
