Hot water

We moved from Louisiana to Texas yesterday got all set up and got ready to take a shower last night and to water is coming out of the faucet when we turn on the hot side, we checked the water heater and there is hot water in there, we are trying to locate the tank now so we can check that, we have the north point 381flws

Are you on city water, or on board tank? Do you have valves set correctly in the docking bay? Water pump turned on? Water to any other faucets?

Hot water

On the docking bay we turn the red valve sideways we get water through our faucets, we have the hot water tank turned on again so hopefully we will have some hot water soon and nothing messes up turning the red valve

One of those valves should be to turn off flow to the hot water tank when winterizing (adding antifreeze) the plumbing. If it shows you need to turn it in the wrong position, it could be installed backwards.

Could it be that their hot water bypass is turned on?

Kinda sounds like either the valve handle installed 180 out (does it Point down when you turn it, should Point up) or maybe that valve has been replaced and the water lines hooked up backward. If you have the 5 valve utility center the only time you turn the red valve is for winterizing and sanitizing. Both of those call for the hot water tank to be bypassed. So kind of a shot in the dark guess is that the red valve in the hot water bypass valve.

Hot water

Well the red valve didn’t work, it let water come through the faucet but not the hot water, we ended up draining the tank full of hot water and then filled it back up thinking something might of gotten in there and clogged it up because they were working on the water lines when we got here but that didn’t work either, we called our dealers they said they didn’t know what the problem was but that we could bring it in and have warranty work done since it is only 4 months old but we are 300 miles away so that wouldn’t work for us, Ended up calling a repair man and he will be back in the morning to change out the check valve on the back of the tank isn’t working to let water flow out of the tank, he showed my husband and I the valve it looks pretty beat up for only being 4 months old, we bought our camper brand new and the first day we had it the fireplace stopped working then a month later the fan on the furnace fell off so we packed it up to take it in and the slide out wouldn’t go all the way in, it’s been one thing after another I think they built it on a Friday 🤷*♀️😊

If you call Jayco and tell them your situation, they will authorize a mobile repair. They will then reimburse you for the charges, minus the travel charge.
