Jayco Portable Drinking Water Pump.

We have a new to us 2021 Jayco Pinnacle 32 RLTS. How often should the pump run when it's not in use? We were doing our walk-through yesterday at the dealer. It seemed to me that the pump would kick on every 5 minutes just for a second or two. Is this normal?

Mine only turns on when a faucet or shower is turned on or toilet flushed. maybe it has a small leek somewhere causing it to lose pressure and turn the pump on for just a second to build pressure back up.

Nope, not normal for the drinking water pump or the main water pump. After it's primed, the only time it should run is when drawing water. Look for water leaks.

Thank you, I’m not sure yet about the main water pump. The one I was concerned about was the drinking water supply that pulls from the 5 gal jug.

I’m wondering if it could be air in the lines. The 5th wheel has been sitting for sometime now. I did ask the dealer to leave it on mark the water bottle and see if it’s actually pulling water. We pick it up next weekend

could be a leak or trash in the pump not allowing the check valve to seal properly.

Ugh, we had the same problem with our new-to-us 2020 NP 377RLBH. It was driving me crazy to hear the pump cycle every 5-10 minutes. I ended up getting a Shurflo 105-013 for around $60 and swapped it out and it fixed the problem. In hindsight, it was definitely a "make work" project because I reworked the tubing and hard-wired it to 12v through a lighted water pump switch. I wouldn't recommend going through all of *that* but swapping the pump worked for us.

Not normal if there is sufficient water in the water tank. However with my unit, if the water tank is almost empty, the pump will randomly cycle On and Off trying to keep pressure up when no faucets are open.
