We are truly enjoying our new fifth wheel. Just spent a week camping and we're pleased with the size of the tanks allowing us quick showers nearly daily and not needing to empty the black tank the whole 8 days.
That being said we did have one safety concern. The magnetic door was up for the bacement and when shutting the trailer door the magnetic door came crashing down. Unfortunately for kim he was bent inside getting something out so he was hit on the back. Luckily it was not his head. We are careful never to leave this door open now since if a person was sitting under the awning in front of it and someone else went inside it could come crashing down on their head. Not a good thing.
Thank you for that warning. We'll be taking our little grandson with us sometimes and I wouldn't want his fingers getting smashed. Better to leave it shut.
I'd be more worried about him being hit in the head. That door is heavy. The door was fully opened and the magnet released when shutting the trailer door.
Interesting that they changed it. I am suspecting they realized there was a problem I'm surprised no one has been hurt. First time it happened kim was alone and then told me we should never leave it open. Second time he was getting something out of there and not thinking I came out of the trailer and shut the door and it came down on his back. I have to stress that I did not slam the door with any force so it didn't take much for the magnet to let go
Have your dealer add a second magnet to the door. We had the same issue on our 345BHTS and that cured the issue. The door stays open with no issues as we have a TV mounted in that compartment.
