MoRryde quick connect steps

Anyone using the “quick connect” steps? I am looking at adding them and would like to hear the pros and cons. I can’t go with the traditional MoRryde fold up steps as I need to access the unit in storage and don’t have the room to fold them down. I would only be connecting them on extended stays.

I looked into those too. My concern is having structure behind where the mounts mount.

I looked at my Eagle and it has a 2 x 4 board running under the door that the mounts would screw into. I would think it would be sufficient. Wondering if anyone else has done this before I pull the trigger.

I have a 2017 Eagle 293RKDS. I haven't looked for structure yet.

Did you check out the qualifier PDF on their site?

Yes I did, thank you. It states you need a structural support to screw into which I do. They are telling you not to just mount it to the skirting if there is no support behind it.

Yep. You should be good if you have something to screw into. I'm still on the fence as I'd have to haul it in the truck bed. Not to mention I haven't checked for structure behind the skirting yet.
We camp in state parks and fields. So there could be trees, boulders, and big drop offs by the entry door. After two years of seeing if we could use the fold in steps every time we camped, we had several times we couldn't use the site if we had the fold in steps.

While I have not found a place I cannot use my steps, I think your statement is exact the justification for the removable version. If you find a spot they don't work in, just use your existing pull out stairs instead.

Checked my unit. I have the minimum 1.75" under the threshold and wooden structure. But my j-wrap skirting locking strip runs under the threshold. So I'd have to cut that out where the brackets go.

Thanks Mopar. I saw that video and was going to mount it on to the skirting same as the guy did in the video. My skirting under the door sits tight against the wood behind it. I am still hoping someone chimes in that has done this on an Eagle FW. We camp for extended stays and that is when I would connect steps.
