Nothing yet, I'm 99% sure I'm going with the 2020 GMC AT4 2500 HD. Just waiting on some rebates to come out. Still undecided on hitch, I have the automatic slider, it just takes up so much room and it extremely heavy.

You won’t be disappointed with the AT4, I have about 3K miles on mine and it’s awesome. I am going to put it to work Thanksgiving week so I can report back then. I went with the 3500 instead of the 2500, not much $ difference. I have the Ultimate and I love it, I had it in my 07 and it’s pretty sweet when you can get your daughter to get your hitch out then I hang it on the wall out of the way when not in use. Good luck on any of your new purchases. Oh yea I have a 16 321RSTS.

Nice truck. I didn’t have the wallet or garage for it, but the one I drove was really nice. They addressed so many things from the previous gen. I really like my ‘19, but I’d like some of the new tech etc on the new ones. GM really upped their game.

Just an FYI, gm is supposed to dramatically change the interiors of the trucks in 2021.

I'm towing with a '17 3500HD SRW and had a '11 F350 DRW prior. The Chev rides flatter hooked but even with the 3500 I'm right at the tire-limited RAWR. If the 20's are the same as mine then when unloaded it rides like a 2500 as the load spring isn't engaged.

Yes they have for sure, before I bought my 3500 I went to the GM dealer and look at the 2019 3500 I really love the looks.

I really like this AT4 as well. Maybe in a couple of years for me??

Good luck with your decision.
When they say up to: That highest weight is for a single cab truck. Its a lower weight for a extended cab and even lower for a crew cab. Make sure you check out the max weight for single cab, extended cab and crew cab also different weights for long bed vs short bed in all three cab options. belore making your decision. check all the max weights.

Here are the specs for a 2500hd
The bottom pic is for a 3500hd, big difference for not a lot more money in my opinion.

We camp in relatively flat areas most of time time and are normally within a couple hundred miles from home. I had the Reese Goose Box installed on my camper, so all I have in the bed of my truck is the ball. Leaves room and is a clean bed when not towing. Best of luck in your search for truck and hitch.

How are you liking the Goosebox? How does it tow? I’ve heard it offers pretty good ride comfort. Would love to hear your feedback.

Thanx

The Goosebox has been great. My air is around 42-45 psi. Simple to hookup and very smooth ride. Very minimal chucking. I’d recommend it to anyone looking a kingpin alternative. Plus, the bed only has the ball in the bed.

Thank you sir. Having a clean bed is very attractive. My last hitch was a B&W Companion. Now at 70, that’s a bit more of a load than I’m willing to wrestle with. Thanx for the feedback.

Mid if I ask how the towing experience is with the 317RLOK? We are considering that model but we only have towed a 28'FW with a GMC 3500.

This is about the same as my 321RSTS and it is great, you just have to remember to swing out and not turn too soon and your GMC 3500 want have any problem.

New 2020 GMC 2500

I’d agree with Big. I’m towing with the GM 3500 SRW. No bags or anything. Bone stock. should be a near identical experience. I suppose that trailer could have a marginally lighter pin with the fridge in the rear, but same size beyond that from what I can tell.

Back to the topic of the new ‘20 2500’s. I’m really interested in hearing how they handle the heavier loads up near the max payloads. They definitely look like a bigger truck. Saw one yesterday at my gym, and had to check it out. Very nice.

Hazy security photo, but you get the idea.

FWIW, just scaled our 321RSTS yesterday-3280# on the pin (yeah, too much s*** in the basement and front closet). That is a lot to place on the rear end of a 3/4 ton and bang it around on our wonderful roads. 1 tons are only a little more $$s (small % compared to cost today of new truck) and ride amazingly well when empty. Also, you are at the limit of single E rated single tires. It never ends! Pop up camper anyone?
