New AGM battery added

Question to fellow RVers. I recently went to an AGM Group 27 dual-purpose battery. Anyone do the same AGM battery upgrade?

My question is, when in storage mode, how long does the AGM battery stay charged without being plugged into shore power?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

If you do not disconnect the battery the systems will deplete the battery in about 2 weeks. I recommend disconnecting the battery if you are stored longer than that.

There are lots of parasite power drains on the battery, such as the CO2/Gas detector, radio, BMPRO, and other systems, that are always pulling power.

Please note, if you have a factory battery disconnect, it does not always disconnect the items noted above. Take a moment to verify. Some people have rewired their disconnect to fully disconnect everything, and others have added a second disconnect, while others just remove the negative wire from the battery terminal. I remove my inline fuse at the battery.

I also installed an AGM battery a few years ago. I think a group 31.

I agree. 10 days is all I was getting before the dead battery was being damaged by low voltage. I added a FULL disconnect, replaced the batteries and have had no problems since then.

I will disconnect the negative cable from the battery for now. Thanks for all that responded.
