New Jayco 321RSTS Slide/Caulk Question

My wife and I recently purchased a new 321 RSTS fifth wheel. It’s our 3rd trailer in our life time, and I’ve learned the hard way to do a quality control inspection even after taking possession of a new trailer.

During our first outing, I noticed our living room slide appears to be missing some caulk (see pics). Is this normal on other 321’s or other Jayco Eagle slides?

If it needs caulk, I prefer to do it myself unless the shop uses Proflex. Does anyone know what type caulk Jayco uses in their manufacturing process?

Any thoughts. Thanks in advance.

We love the trailer. We traded in a Coachmen Chaparral 360IBL. it was 40' with a slide bunkhouse. We were ready for an upgrade w/levelers, residential refrigerator, King bed etc...

The slides not being caulked has given me some worries. Nothing like slide out floors rotting. I will be taking in to replace a dented refrigerator door that was damaged in transit. The door is on order. I will hit up the dealer for answers.

Enjoy your trailer.

Is that area ever exposed to the outside?

Those slide seams on my 11 year old rig have butyl rubber tape under them, No caulk ever and they have not leaked on my rig. If you look closely you can see the butyl rubber tape squeezing out on mine.

Check and if you see that don't worry about it. Any caulk added will be loosened by the slide seals as they move in and out.
