Hello all,
I may have jumped the gun by joining already when we haven’t purchased our 5th wheel yet. We have done a lot of looking and have decided that our new 5th wheel will be a Jayco. After attending the RV show in St. Louis 2 weeks ago and being able to compare a lot of RV’s side by side Jayco stood out in quality over everyone else. My next step after buying our new F250 is to purchase a hitch. I am open t suggestions. The tow vehicle is a 2018 F250 diesel crew cab. It has the ultimate tow package and fifth wheel prep package.

Hello to you and welcome to the forum.

Getting educated about your tow vehicle's PAYLOAD limit and your future trailer's fully loaded pin weight is a good reason to join BEFORE buying your 5th wheel. Your vehicle and RV salesfolks will probably make it sound like your F-250 diesel pickup can tow any 5th wheel, but that is really not true.

So, grab the beverage of your choice and use the site's search function to begin learning about hitches and PAYLOAD.

Welcome from Northern California. I joined the forum 6 months before purchasing our first travel trailer. It was 6 months that was well worth the investment. This is one of the best forums around, members are great and the information you read is top notch.

Welcome to JOF. It's a great resource to learn what others already have and their opinions.

There are no easy answers but the lesson is: Do your research. The worst thing is to make an investment in a tow vehicle that you find you don't like or it won't do the job.

Enjoy the shopping experience.

Same advice on the hitch! If I were in the market and had a newer truck, I would make sure the hitch used the puck system that most all trucks are equipped with, for easy removal when not needed.
