The rams had the 4.10 rear as an option. The Chevys do not, although with the diesel I do not think it needs it.

I don't mind the 4.10. Paired with the diesel it has one heck of a pulling power. I'm averaging 10.5 to 11 mpg towing my 17,000 lb Pinnacle...........and that is in mountain territory.

That is very good for sure. I bet pulling up hill shows it.

I always use my cruise control. At 60 mph, I've never slowed down on any mountain pass..........so far..........max rpms, 2500.

Impressive. I have not gone to mountainous areas yet where I can use cruise control. I have noticed that this truck will stay in cruise control at 65 up hills my old Tundra would kick out of cruise with my old trailer. Diesels are impressive beasts.

We tow our 2019 North Point 377RLBH with a 2018 Ford F-350 single wheel truck. With 3660 payload capacity it didn’t leave ANY room to spare, but I put a cargo carrier on the back bumper that I put my grill, grill table, tool-box and Honda ei2000 generator in. Although the rack has a 500# capacity, the bumper has only a 300# capacity, so I can only carry 250# back there. Since that is behind the axles it doesn’t add anything to the cargo weight in the bed if the truck. Pulls like an absolute dream. I didn’t want a “dually”.

Thanks K Holbrook. I must have been getting vibes from you last night. I started contemplating that exact idea. Was looking at an Erickson aluminum cargo carrier with the same arrangement. Just playing with numbers and what to move to the back. Glad your idea worked so well!

The hitch weight of my trailer is 2820 pounds empty. As I mentioned previously the cargo capacity of my truck is 3660 pounds. Once I added the weight of me, my wife and small dog, the 5th wheel hitch itself, two full propane tanks, and a battery, it didn’t leave but about 250 pounds for gear and clothing. That’s why I’m using the cargo carrier on the back. I’ve heard from my Ford dealership that the cargo capacity is always rated lower than posted (could be as high as 10%) because they know people are going to take it to the limits. A customer service rep from GM told me that several years ago relative to their towing capacity on a GMC vehicle. So the cargo carrier gives me great piece of mind, plus it does absolutely nothing to the stability of the ride and towability.

I'm in the same category as above and a believer in that having more truck to do the job puts me in a comfortable range. Heading through the mountains again this weekend and it's a very capable TV up and down. The engine braking is a great feature.

Sure I can't put it in the first spot at the stores, but that burns off a few calories.

2018 377RLBH 2013 RAM 3500 4WD single rear wheel. Auto leveling air bags. no problems at all. I do wish it had the 8 ft bed but the truck is my daily driver and it does drive much better with the smaller wheel base. If I had to do it all over again I'd probably get the 8 ft bed but keep the single rear axel.

I did the same with my 2017 F350 SRW. From the factory the rear was 2.5 inches higher than the front. When not towing and being a little vertically challenged it makes accessing the bed much easier. When towing use the bags to level the truck. I honestly believe it tows better with the bags than it did without them.

F250 srw

I tow my 377 with a 2013 F250 short bed 4 x 4 with the 6.7 diesel. I do not have a washer/dryer, yet.The configuration of the truck puts the 377 right at the upper end of it's ratings. I already had air bags on the truck for a previously owned TT. I added a built in compressor system with a gauge and control switch in the front seat console. I also had an air chuck installed inside the bed of the truck near the tail gate.

After my first trip on California highways, I added a set of Sumo Springs (supersprings.com) to the front of the truck. This spring replaces the rubber bumper and does a great job of softening the hit from major potholes.

My hitch is a B&W Companion puck style hitch, which I have been very happy with. I am however, thinking about upgrading to a sliding hitch because the short bed limits my turning ability.

The rig tows great. I have no problem going up 6% grades. Even in the summer the temperature gauge barley budges. I am very stable, and do not even notice when big rigs pass me on a 2 lane highway.

I 2nd this 100%, went from F250 with airbags and 6.7. Plenty of HP, not enough truck. Went to F450 Dually, Wide front end, 45 degree turning. Like night and day.

We tow a 2019 Pinnacle with a Ram 3500 with Cummins Diesel SRW. We do have a W/D in bedroom located over hitch. Ram pulls the Pinnacle like a dream. No issues.

We owned a 375BHFS with stacked washer and dryer and gen prep (no generator) that we pulled with a 2013 Chevy 3500 Duramax Crewcab SRW, 6.5' bed, with a Curt Q20 hitch directly over the axle. I was looking for a different truck and knew we'd be moving to a toy hauler, so we ended up with a 2016 Chevy 3500 Duramax Crewcab DRW, 8' bed, with a B&W hitch just ahead of the axle. We pulled that camper for 2 years with the SRW and a year with the DRW and I saw no legible difference in stability. The added performance of the newer truck was also not huge. I'm only familiar with Chevy's but my opinion is that with stabilitrak on newer trucks, stability of SRWs are dramatically improved. Having had the unfortunate experience of stabilitrak being forced off on a high cross wind day, it does make a difference on a DRW too.

2018 377 RLBH (no W/D but have factory generator) and 2017 Ford F350 SRW KR Long Bed 6.4L Never have any issues towing. Drove 150 miles at night in a driving rain storm a couple of months ago and never had an issue. If we full-timed I might consider a DRW but when we finally get to full-time switching to diesel pusher.
