Permanent Site - Slide Out Excercise?
To all you folks who are semi permanent do you exercise your slides while parked long term? If so how often? I was thinking once a month would be adequate?

I am semi permanent and here is what I do.
November thru February slides are closed for winter
March thru October slides are open, unless we have pulled out for a trip
Mid June, slides are exercised for a weekend trip
July, slides are exercised for a two week vacation at beach
September, slides are exercised for a weekend trip
Mid October, slides are exercised for a weekend trip
So, it appears my slides are pulled in/put out around 18-20 times per year. If you don't move yours like I do, I would say a quick in and out every couple of months would be fine.

I keep mine parked at a RV resort and have always pulled my slides in before we left after the weekend stay. I have noticed though I was the only one doing this. I was always worried about the UV rays and wind wearing out my slide covers. Recently we upgraded and now have 3 slides and now my thinking is more on the wear and tear of the slide mechanics. So my slides will remain out more now

Yeah, twice a year. Out in April. In around October. Never really figured they need exercise. I do grease the arms and condition the seals every year as well.

What conditioner do you use on the seals?
Also, what type of slide mechanisisms does your unit have, and what grease/lube do you use?

Sparky66,
I'm not on a permanent site, but if I was I would open/close my slides at least twice a year and spray "Aerospace 303" UV protector on all the rubber seals/wipers, etc..
I've used "303" for years on my TV's (Tonneau cover, etc.) and RV's......, has many application uses. I used the product frequently on my retired 12 year old Eagle TT and never had any seal/wiper problems....., also applied it to my Eagle's Filon outer surface and never experienced any decal degrade. Great product!

I use the camco slide lube & seal conditioner. It's cheap enough & readily available at any rv dealer or walmart.
