Electric water heater

Hi all. We are on our first overnight with our 2018 north point 315. I am having a hard time getting the water heater to work on electric. I flipped the switch on the command center, waited several hours and the water is only luke warm?!? It is warmer than the cold water but not near hot enough for a shower. Any thoughts? I am 300 miles from the dealer. Thanks in advance.

What we normally do is run it on gas initially until the gas shuts off. Then flip to electric. Also make sure the winterize bypass valve is fully closed. Otherwise you are blending cold and hot.

If yours is like mine was, it isn’t hooked up to power. There’s not much to go wrong here. If it heats on gas but not on electric, check the breaker first then check for power at the unit proper.

Like roadrunner suggested, make sure that you have your bypass valves closed. You might be making hot water and simply mixing it with cold.

We use our electric water heater almost exclusively. We usually arrive mid day and turn it on when we plug in to electric, and by the evening have enough hot water for the kids bath. Something is definitely amiss with yours.

Ok so this is weird. I have hot water to the bathroom sink but not at the kitchen sink or the shower. Any ideas?

Check your outside shower faucets. They could be on and feeding cold water into the hot water side.

Also if you have the factory shower head, make sure it’s turned off with the valves and not the switch on the shower head.
