We own a Jayco HT 28.5RSTS 2018. Two weeks ago it was at the dealer for service and after picking it up we thought we would run across the scale to see how we were loaded. The only thing in the trailer that was not factory was a few dishes and a second battery. Truck only Front 4760, Rear 3220 with trailer Front 4760, Rear 5140, Trailer 8020. That is a pin weight of 1920. Just wondering if this is about normal. Jayco advertises the HT as half ton tow able. These number look like it put me with in 100 lbs of my GVWR. Any one have any thoughts? I have called Jayco and there only response was and email with the specs of the trailer which only add more questions.
Last time I looked at their fine print they had a list of which half tons recommended to tow the HTs. They were all low feature regular cab long bed 4x2, and the HTs are right at the top of some of them.
IMHO the HT lineup is a better fit for gasser 2500s.

I am of the same thought. My tow vehicle is a Chevy HD2500 Duramax. The GAWR Front is 5200 Rear 6200 and the GVWR is 10000. My real concern is that the factory is not putting out accurate information. If the numbers were correct from Jayco I may have gone a different direction with my truck or maybe the trailer. Have you ever weighed your rig
When we weighed our 28.5 HT last year, fully loaded for camping with no water, our pin weight was 1960 lbs. We’ve added a few small things this year and will re-weight it before our next trip.
