Pin Box Adjustment ?

Just picked up a 2018 North Point 377 RLDS yesterday. TV is a 2013 Ram dually with CM flatbed and B&W hitch. I only have ~6-8" clearance below front landing gear when hooked up and am worried about bottoming out. I have air bags ordered for the truck that should help some but is it OK to adjust the pin box on camper? Pin box has 3 holes front and back-front 3 have bolts and top 2 in back have bolts in them. It looks to me like I could drop the pin box down one hole and have 3 bolts in back and 2 in front and would gain ~1.5" clearance. Dealer I purchased from said pin box was not adjustable and they would not touch it. I'm pretty sure I adjusted the pin box on my last 5er but it's been too many years ago to remember. Thanks for any advice.

Yep, pin boxes are adjustable, hence the adjustments. Most hitches are adjustable too. Dealers can be full of **** at times. Just make sure you torque everything to the proper specs and recheck on the next couple trips.

Another common lie I hear people being told is you can't adjust your adjustable suspension, will void the warranty.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the B&W RVK3050 hitch for flatbeds is not adjustable so I’m limited to pin box and suspension adjustments.

I did some investigating today. I have a Lippert 1621 18K pin box. If I lower it I will only have 4 bolts per side instead of 5. Lippert requires 5 bolts per side on all pin boxes rated at 18k and above and 4 bolts per side on pin boxes rated less than 18k. I could really use the extra 2” gained by lowering it. Would 4 bolts/side be enough? Could I weld the pin box in place to add strength? Any advice appreciated.

What's your gross weight? Can't imagine it's over 18K. Ours is 16750 max

GVWR on it is 16,750.
If it tips the scale at 18k, its overloaded.
I'll check my 17 Northpoint 375 and see how many bolts it has. The 375 and 377 are pretty comparable in weight.

Nevermind. I found a pic in my phone and I have 5 bolts. 3 up front and 2 on the backside.

I'd take it down and see if there is an extra set of holes you can use.

If not 5, consider adding another.

I dropped it down and can only get 4 bolts /side now-2 in front and 2 in back. Any thoughts on welding it in place to make up for the missing bolt?

I wouldn't weld, that would be permanent. Call Morryde and ask them about going with 4 bolts. Those bolts are very hefty and properly torqued should be fine.
