Power converter, loss of voltage...

Here's the issue everyone. My 90A power converter is capable of 14.5v output to charge my Lithium batteries. According to the battery manufacturer, this is perfect. The issue is, I can't get my batteries charged anything past 13.1v. When on shore power or with a generator running I get 13.5v max, but that drops to 13.1 (13.2 if I'm really lucky). My power converter fuses are all fine, connections seem sound. I used my voltage meter to check the output voltage right at the converter (with generator running) and it was showing 14.56V. This is all with the Wizard button pressed.. So where can I be loosing the voltage between the converter and my batteries? It was working recently, and nothing new was done to cause the issue. I have two 270ah Lithium batteries and a progressive dynamics pd4590k18ns2 converter in a 2016 Jayco Northpoint 377RLBH.

sounds like voltage drop from the wires...try this calculator https://www.calculator.net/voltage-drop-calculator.html

Did you upgrade the converter to use with Lithium? If it's the one that came wtih your rig it will not take a Lithium to full charge.

Updating to a Lithium Battery System requires the removal and replacement of the present slide out Lead/Acid Converter/Charger Section with one designed to charge Lithium Batteries. These Replacement Lithium Sections are available from our approved distributors. NOTE: Lithium Replacement Sections are only available for Progressive Dynamics and WFCO Wall Mount units.

Are your lithium batteries low? I don’t have lithium or your same charger but if it’s charging at 13.1, sounds like everything is fine. The charger should only use that max charge level at over 14 if it needs to.

If I understand the process, and it’s similar to lead acid, as the batteries approach full capacity the charger will reduce the voltage and slowly top the batteries off at a lower voltage than when the batteries are nearly empty.

Same button on my converter bumps voltage to 14.5-ish for 4 hours and should charge your lithium. Double check your connections between batts and converter since your reading good power at converter. Maybe a bad cable crimp, check them closely.
