Our first TT did not have them. It was a real PITA to have to climb on the roof and use a broom to sweep the top of the slide every time I wanted to close it. Really sucked in the rain and in the winter.
The second TT we bought we paid the $600 to have the dealer install it when we bought it new.
When we were shopping for the current 5th wheel we own I would not even consider getting one without the toppers. only problem is it gets quite pricy when you have 4 slides!
We got lucky when we bought out 2018 North Point 377RLBH. It was bought and traded back to the dealer for a Pinnacle before it was every slept in it. It had just about every option already installed, (slide toppers, heat pump, tank less WH, gen prep w/ 3rd propane tank, back up camera) but we only paid 60K for it. Also we had bought our Coachmen TT for $28,500 and they gave us 27K trade in.
