slide stuck

I have a 2011 351rlts that the slide came in crooked, the top of slide is all the way in and the bottom is out about 2 inches, when I push the switch in either direction I get a gear or grinding noise and the slide doesnt move.I know i have a problem and the dealer will be coming in the near future to fix I hope because we dont have a truck to tow,my question is there anyway for me to get the slide out while I wait for dealer.I dont see anyplace for a manual crank just some control module in storage compartment-thanks

There is a access panel in the "belly" of the trailer, Look for a square panel with hex head screws. Remove the panel and use the hand crank to turn the gear box, it will move slow. You can also try turning off all power,( disconnect shore power) including disconnecting the battery. Then you should be able to push the slide, it will take a couple of guys to do this. However I would just wait for the dealer to repair it. I have had both slide motors and gear boxes replaced. After replacement no more issues. Good luck

I read that there is possibly someway to disconnect the slide controller relay in storage comp and slide would move in and out but not sure if anyone has done it this way

I have a 2010 321 RLMS. The monster slide would not come in. To take in manually you need to unplug the relay boxes (2) and get some help to push it in. Once in you need to replug the relay boxes back in as that will reengage the brakes on the motors. If you fail to replug the relays back in your slide is in a free wheel mode and bad things will happen like the slide going out when you round a corner. After my slide was in I cut pieces of 2x6 and usede them like travel bars for extra insurance. We then traveled 1800 miles home in that condition. The unit is at the selling dealers for repair under warrenty. We chose to bring it home due to family commitments instead of waiting around to get get it repaired

We just had the gear box strip on our unit. If the slide is not straining or moving the gear is likely stripped. You can hear the motor running but nothing is moving. You should be able to even the slide by carefully moving it even, then carefully push it all the way out.

I laid on my back under the slide on a blanket and put both feet on the slide in the middle bottom. There is a beam, level with the slide rails. I pushed steady and evenly on it and the slide slipped all the way out and in place. We left it that way for a week, until we were ready to leave.

I had a few good men help me push it in and locked it in place with some 2x4's cut to length. Got it back to the dealer yesterday.

Another great report. Dropped unit off on Wednesday. Slide motor/gearbox assembly replaced. Ready for pickup Friday pm. I called in the part # of the defective part last week and my dealer ordered it. Parts were waiting for me when we got back.

Welcome to the club (of bad gear boxes from the factory). The replacement should do the trick - hope it all works out for you...
