Question slight separation when loaded on hitch

My 2010 30.5 eagle super lite has just started to show signs of separating when loaded onto the hitch, The driver side (left) shows a slight drop (1/4 inch) when loaded but goes back to the original position when unhitched. Anyone had this problem or know what might be causing it?

I have a 2011 Superlite 28.5RLS. It has had an issue similar to that which you describe almost since it was new. I decided it was caused by vertical frame flexing when towing; I think it occurs because the frame steel has to flex, whereas the hard sides ("fiberglas") can not flex. The problem has not changed, although we have towed our fifth wheel over 75,000 miles.

There COULD be some problem with your frame; at minimum I'd suggest keeping a close eye out for any changes in that 1/4" movement. If you are really worried, you could remove the overhang covering and check for bad welds and frame deformation.
