Solar Ready Wiring

Cut a hole in side wall where indicated by template cut-out of Eagle 26.5 5er. and found no wiring from roof. A fishing expedition ensued and found required wiring near light switch in hallway between bath and bedroom, so 2hr wait turned into leave it and return a week later and another 3+hr. drive to pick up. The sidewall with hole will need to be replaced a later date and yes another 3hr. drive. So heads up on so called solar ready wiring and its location.

The sticker on the wall in my 29.5 bhok has a website listed, wiredforsolar.com. When I go to it there is no website. A godaddy.com site comes up. Anyone have any info on this.

It seems that there are two forms of "Solar Ready" with Jayco.... One is a two prong plug, usually located in the utility compartment by the water connections, which is a prewired connection to the batteries, which can be used to plug-in a portable solar panel.

The second form combines the first with a roof connection that accepts standard MC3 solar connections, for installing roof panels. It's easy to determine if you have this second connection, by looking on the roof for an unused connection. The challenge with this second type, is that you need to determine where the wires terminate. They are 8awg wires, so they are bigger than most of the other wiring, but smaller than battery cable. and mine were coiled with a bit of "extra" length behind a panel in the basement of my 5'er.... Since I used the roof connector for my panels, I now use the connector in the utility cabinet to run my macerator pump when it's needed....
