switch removal

I have switch, that controls the accent lights on each end of the slide out, that blows the fuse each time it is switched on. It obviously is not a critical condition so, I have currently taped over it so that we do not accidentally turn it on. The fuse that it blows is the circuit that also controls all the lights in the living and kitchen area plus the 12v to fridge. I would like to start trouble shooting beginning at the switch but, I am not exactly sure how to remove it and don't want to break anything.
I know there are a lot of knowledge on this site so, I am hoping someone will clue me in. Thanks.

Typically switches of that type just need a knife point or even a small screwdriver tip to work the top or bottom out. They are usually held in place by plastic 'spring clips' molded into the switch housing.

It looks to me like there are 8 screws holding the entire panel in place. I'd start there and how to remove the switches should become obvious. I'm also betting the previous poster is right but I'd just make sure you don't want to break anything. If there's any high voltage on the panel please disconnect before servicing.

Chances are pretty good that your switch isn't the problem. I'd put a lot of suspicion on wires somewhere in the slide wiring harness, perhaps in the area that moves when the slide is moved. Also look at the light fixtures carefully. If it blows instantly when you turn on the switch, you have a dead short somewhere.

You're most likely correct that it is a dead short. I just felt that if I can check the connection to the switch, that would be the easiest place to start. The dealer has previously had to access switches on the panel previously. Thank you and the others for your insights.
