Two anomalies

On my latest expedition I ran in to two anomalies:

First: the city was extending the natural gas line and had several large trucks w/ trailers (and no nearby drivers) parked immediately at the foot of my driveway. No problem, I'd just back up/ turn around and go thru the adjoining yard, but as I approached a jack knife position travel got jerky. The truck powered thru it but I finally got out to see what was up. Well, the break away cable had been pulled free in this turning maneuver. This was a first for me and fortunately an easy fix - and so I was on my way.

Second: when cool nights roll in I plug in the portable electric heater. On our first night the "upstairs" bedroom got too warm while "downstairs was still cool. No problemo, I figured, I'd just turn the AC fan to always on; I've done this often in the summer so as to mix up the air. Much to my surprise the always on doesn't operate in heating mode (I had it set to kick in if it got too cold). After thinking about it I realized that the heater had its own blower. DUH? Switching the Heater to off allowed the fan to run full time; that worked as planned - and we had comfortable nights after that.

Two good learning experiences and good shares for others to learn from. Fortunately, they were affordable repairs. Lol!
