We just purchased a new 2020 317rlok that came with a residential refrigerator
will the water and ice maker work if don't put the water filter in,
the unit was already winterized when we purchased it

Yes it will work without the filter. After you flush your water system out, you can then put the filter in.

Actually, you’ll find the flow to the water dispenser much more tolerable without the filter.

Our Eagle had that issue when we first got it. I ended up getting a replacement filter from a well known filter website and been good ever since. Yes, the water and ice will work without a filter. I've been wondering if I even replace it when it's time, since I have a filter before the water inlet going into the camper, anyway.
