Common issue. Couple things to look for that could cause it. Long awning tubes tend to sag or bow in the middle. This causes wrinkles. Also, where to awning fabric is attached to the sidewall has one screw on each end holding the fabric in place. If the fabric has become loose or torn away from the screw, wrinkles will occur.

I have wrinkles in my main awning. Not too bad but it’s due to a combination of both bowed tube and loose fabric at sidewall

Mine slides a bit on the wall. I must be missing a screw you speak of.

Yep, they stretch. Wind loading over time does it, especially when it is really hot out.

Ours wrinkles. The arms aren't quite mounted straight. When it closes I have to force the right side in which then abnormally pulls the vinyl. We noticed this during the PDI but didn't think too much of it at the time. In hind sight we could have made them fix it but it probably would have caused more problems then helped. It's only off about 1/4 inch. New holes might have been too close to the existing ones. It's been over 5 years and the awning is just fine.
