Trip to Assateague and covid restrictions

We have a trip to Assateague (NP campground) booked for the week after Easter, coming from NY. When I booked the campground, I didn't realize there are travel restrictions in MD. In fact, they require 10 days quarantine or a negative covid test. Not sure what my options are. Maybe hope for the best that travel restrictions will be relaxed in the next month. Or, take covid self tests (still pretty expensive, $120 per person).

Another option would be to stay nearby, but in VA, which has less stringent travel rules. Anyone know of a nice camp ground on the VA side near Chincoteague?

There is a KOA on Chincoteague. A decent campground but pricey, especially compared to the Assateague parks. A bit further south is Tall Pines Harbor. A nice private park with alot of recent upgrades. There is also Toms Cove on Chincoteague, never camped there but some I know like it. I wasn't aware Md had that policy, I'm in Virginia and camped at Pocomoke River SP in December there was no mention of quarantines. But I didn't ask either lol.

I just looked all over the Maryland gov website and I can't find any travel restrictions. Where did you see them?

I called some RV campgrounds around a state I was traveling through and asked them about their travel restrictions, they were glad to update me

Thanks for the input, everyone. This is form the MD governor's covid website:

https://governor.maryland.gov/maryla...or%2010%20days.

Travel. The governor issued an emergency order requiring Marylanders to limit all travel to essential purposes only. All Marylanders who do travel outside of Maryland or any individuals who do travel to Maryland must either obtain a negative COVID-19 test result or self-quarantine for 10 days. This applies to all states, with the exception of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, DC. Read the governor’s order and the companion health directives.

I think the decree is from Dec 17th, but as far as I can tell it hasn't been lifted yet. I'm still hoping that in the background of dropping cases there will be a relaxing of restrictions by Easter. My second hope is that inexpensive at home antigen quick tests become available. They are supposed to be in the $30 range, so that will be affordable for peace of mind before the travel.

My third plan is on camping across the border in VA, thanks, Crabman, for the tips regarding the campgrounds.

That's what I would do if I was all by myself. However, I have a 16 year old boy who is very socially active. We've had constant battles over the past year of him going to parties and telling us there are 5 other kids there, and later it turned out there were 30 (our county limit for social gatherings is 10). I would look like a huge hypocrite to him if I wanted him to abide by the rules, and then break them myself .

That would only make you like a government bureaucrat.
