2013 m2 Seneca front shocks

Any recommendations for front shock replacement? Don't find Koni or Bilstein for m2 application.

I got my Bilsteins from what was Power Brake and Spring Service, now PBS Truck Parts, in South Bend. I believe they list them as "Fire truck steer axle" shocks for an M2 application. The part number was BIL 24-196208. I think they are a 60mm shock.

PBS website: Parts and Service for Heavy Trucks, Commercial Vehicles and RVs | Power Brake Truck Parts

The shocks don't show up on their website, you have to call. I ordered mine a while ago and they shipped them out that day, I had them 2 days later. I think it was a bit over $500 for the pair (shipped), but I am only one state away shipping distance! And I also felt they made a big difference, they stopped the interstate "porpoising" I would frequently experience.

I bought my Embark with Bilsteins already on it, I don't have any "wandering" or "porpoising" even on uneven roads - Also has an aftermarket steering stabilizer.

Early Freightliner Senecas came with Sachs shocks which had little (no?) rebound dampening. Hence the tendency to "porpoise". Later years came with the "J-Ride" package which included the Bilsteins. Now I think they have gone back to the Sachs and I hope it isn't the same O.E. part I had!

They knew the Bilsteins were better since the put them on the Embarks, but I guess they were saving some $$s on the early FL Senecas. I asked at the factory when I visited during warranty work, they said the chassis were delivered with Sachs from FL and they (Jayco) swapped them out on the later Senecas.

I upgraded my 2015 Seneca to Belsteins. They were only available from one supplier either in South Bend or Elkhart Indiana. They were developed exclusively for Jayco by Belstein. If I can find my receipt in motorhome I will let you know who they were. I still have the original box they came in. Keep my old OEM shocks in them. The part number from Belstein is 24-248136. They make a huge difference in ride quality.

It started coming back to me after thinking about it. I had to go thru my Jayco dealer to get the Belstein shocks for the Seneca. Since they were a Jayco exclusive Belstein send them to one of there dealers (Rob R. might be correct with PBS truck parts) who than got them to Morryde who does the initial build out for Jayco, chassis lengthening, jacks, basement compartments and in this case shock replacement. It might be worth a call to PBS.

Hi Robb,

Did you only replace the front shocks and not the rear? I have bilstein shocks up front, but not in the rear. Just curious.

I did only replace the front shocks, the rear are still the stock Sachs that Freightliner installed. But that greatly reduced the "porpoising" we would experience on interstate highways.

Has anyone tried the Koni FSD shocks for their Seneca? If you have what is the part #? I have a 2012 Seneca 36 FK. Thanks

Hi: Considering a 2013 Embark but NADA only shows 2011 & 2012. Anyone know the story on that? And how does Embark compare to a Seneca? TIA!

Actually 2009 was the first year, it was a step above the SENECA. It may have been one of the last 2012's that was sold in 2013. Here is the 2013 Archive from JAYCO.
