Freightliner Chassis air leak from clamp rubbing???

Hello Everyone, I am new to this forum and the Jayco brand. Previous Newmar Dutchstar owner and Just moved to the Seneca 37L super C.
When I was researching the Jayco and Freightliner issues, somewhere I read a thread about an airline getting a hole rubbed in it by a clamp and believe they said to look under the front passenger side frame rail. Does anyone know of this and or can they point me in the direction of the tread so that I can adjust this clamp that might rub a hole in my airline?

Welcome Aboard! If you have a newer Seneca, it might not be an issue. I do recall a post something about that. I would guess the post is 3-4 years ago. I believe it was up on the engine near the compressor, I think it was at a clamp. Might try the advanced search engine. You can also use google to search this site too.

Thanks, Jagiven, I have done an advanced search and can not find anything. My unit is a 2021. I have looked on other forums, I can't find it so thought I would try reaching out to the group that knows all about Jayco. I thought the issue was on a 2020 Seneca but my memory is on the blink.. Thanks again for your reply

Hi Seneca37. I do not recall any discussions of this subject. Have you looked in the "Jayco Super C Motorhomes" forum? That forum was split off from here about a year or so ago. Good Luck!

I found these posts. Not sure if it's the same clamp issue you're having, but it may help.

I saw that thread and crawled under my Accolade 37, 2021 model an there is no problem. The picture must show an older model and on my mine, the air lines don't get close to that radiator clamp.

Thanks jacquesmm

I do not recall all info that was on that post or where to look. So it is a radiator line ( thanks) I thought it was under the passenger side front frame rail and must be the bottom radiator clamp that rubbed on the airline?

It was a compressed air line going to or from the dryer, a hose clamp from a radiator hose was rubbing against it.

That info was on an M2 chassis and you have the S2. The band clamp up on the motor that holds the compressor line is still one to watch, I check it every time I check the oil.

I DO suggest that you get a bag of zipties and get on a creeper and roll around front to back and secure any stray wires, looms or hydraulic lines that are hanging. Also check the Hydraulic leveler lines routing, follow each one and check for rubbing on the frame or brackets. I found both of my rear ones were rubbing so I covered them with zip-loom and secured them.

We also have a '21 37L with just over 5600 mile and I just replaced all the broken clamps on the air lines and the one holding the trans fluid indicator tube. The clamps they use are one step above aluminum foil and they do not with stand the vibration causing them to fail and ultimately allowing the air line to come in contact with areas it should not and leading to it wearing through. I also agree with what Rusty said, take the time and roll around under your rig securing loose wires and lines along with covering lines that come in contact with the frame, bolts, etc because we all know that Jayco sure didn't. This little extra time now will be well worth it in the long run.
