Jayco is not interested in helping me and they said so

Thank you. You have now solidified my decision to sell my Jayco and never buy one again and to tell as many people as possible why to not do so.

Jayco creates pain. See the email below. They don’t care about you. They have a “policy” which is more important than the customers that buy their half million dollar motorhomes and keep them employed. My “nearest dealer” is 200 miles from here and they have “unfortunately” a 2 ½ month backlog to even take a look. Help the people that pay your checks.

So buy part from a Jayco Dealer, have it shipped to you if necessary and then install it yourself or have a local shop do the install. That is what I have done with Jayco parts and did with Heartland parts. Not uncommon in the RV industry.

Thank you. I get your point. There is no "local" dealer here, and the closest one can't even address my issue for 2 months. I hear you, but try calling them and maybe feel my pain.

Ray,

Not being unsypathetic but do you think any other RV manufacturer is any different?

I don't call the "Dealer" I call the dealer's parts department with my VIN and a part number if I have it. If they don't have the part on the shelf, which they didn't with a taillight assemble, they order it and have it shipped out, either to them and then to you or directly to you.

Thanks Murff. Not being disrespectful, but if I'd paid $50K, I'd have no room to gripe. This was 5x and they have repeatedly proved they don't care at all. We have a company jet...Citation X. They don't tell us to go find a dealer and maybe guess the part we need. They give us another jet and fix our stuff with no rap. That's really my point. Jayco doesn't care about me or you. Prove me wrong.

[QUOTE= Prove me wrong.[/QUOTE]

Every one of my contacts with them would prove you wrong. Starting with a need to know how they had cabled the RV for TV and how I would go about connecting my Tailgator. They sent me 5 pages of schematics including full instructions for changing coax for DISH. Then came the need for several different parts that needed to be replaced.

I don't know what you are trying to "fix" but I would make my life battlefield easier by taking on the problem, getting the part and having it fixed rather than get an ulcer over an issue.

A multimillion dollar jet is very likely going to get first class attention since they want you to buy another later or more now. An RV worth considerably less might not get the white glove treatment. Life works that way. Even if we don't like it.

I'm late to the game, but can I ask for a recap? What's busted? What part are you looking for? And why is it "un-findable" on The Google? Out of warranty I presume too?

I'm not criticizing, just wondering if the collective wisdom of this group can assist? Maybe we've already been down that road.

What I'm reading into this, and it could be wrong, is that they're saying you need to work the phone for this part. If that's the case, then I've gotten that response from Jayco too.

Happy trails. I’m certain you will be happier with your next rig! Some people just seem to have better luck with one brand over another.

My reply assume's RayBo's RV was purchased new and is under warranty. If so he shouldn't have to do any of the "running around" suggested above. If it was a John Deere product, the part would be overnighted and a JD rep would be there the next day to repair it.

The fact that it's accepted industry wide is stupid consumerism. Although when you consider we have been paying foreign countries excessive amounts for inferior products for decades, maybe it's just who we are.
