jayco seneca

We have a new 2022 seneca and would like to know if we can run the engine while our jacks are down without doing any harm to our coach.

Yes you can, if you are preparing to depart, it is actually best to start the engine and allow the suspension to build air pressure and fill up, then just retract the jacks.

If you are not starting to depart, it will air up the suspension and could affect your leveling situation which could not always be good if your slides are out.

As Rustynuts stated you can run the engine and not cause damage however you will hear a bunch of alarms for a few minutes. If your slides are out you can not retract them with the engine running. Cabin door steps will auto retract if the door is closed, this can be a problem if you don't realize they are retracted. Also it is possible to put the transmission into gear with the jacks down, this will cause them to auto retract which could cause unplanned issues. Also any interlocks will kick in specifically the front tv will shut off. if you understand the various issues you can run it successfully.
