Moth season in Colorado.

Wow, we were at Lake Pueblo state park for a day or two and I couldn't believe the thousands and thousands of moths hanging around the conifers. Later the evening, there were moths flying everywhere and unfortunately, inside our rig. I couldnever find how they were coming in but I'm assuming the made through way through the seals.
Apparently there is an annual moth season around here.

What fun! This a couple of days before it snowed again.

I got those a couple years back on a trip up there. I was still killing them when I got back to Texas.

Headed to Muller State Park in Divide, Colorado next week. Guess I’ll have that to look forward too.

For those not familiar with these moths, they are not the little tiny sweater eating moths. They are the size of a quarter and bigger with their wings spread. Sneaky critters as they get into the RV somehow and pop out of closed cabinet doors.

I have found that those sticky mouse traps will catch a few of them. You can't really squish them against the wall because they make a huge mess... Plus, my daughters tell me how mean I am if I squish them. Instead, I run around with a paper towel trying to catch them so I can release them outside, just so they can sneak back inside to laugh at me. Vicious circle... Damn moths!

When I returned from the moth attack last time, I left one of the reading lights over the bed and put a bowl of water under it. Did this overnight and that got a bunch of them. Doesn’t help when you’re in the thick of it, but it worked well post trip. The rest just eventually died off.

Years back when I used to have a 5th wheel and a lease at a local lake, I found that my half size shop vac was a good tool to have for all types of flying insects inside the RV. I also found that you don't want to neglect emptying it daily as they will go to stinking after a day or two if they stay in the vacuum cleaner. ~CA
