New maintenance item - Grill

After getting home from our trip this weekend I walked around to the front of the rig and found the grill hanging by one bolt. I replaced them all and added lock washers. I will be keeping an eye on them and adding Loctite in the future if needed. Add it to your maintenance list.

This would be either Jayco or the paint shops cause, they remove the grill from the hood for painting. I caught mine when I was missing one screw and the other 3 were loose. Its just one of the things I check every time I wash it.

Found this issue last week one missing and the rest loose. It would have really been a pain if it had fallen off. Hard part is finding a matching replacement bolt.

I just replaced all of mine with stainless button head Allen bolts from Ace hardware.

Change nuts on bolts to "Aviation" nuts. Either nylon or lead threads and won't back of. Or double nut and jam together

With the grill being plastic and the hood fiberglass, the grill is mounted with a rubber “Well Nut” that swells in an oversized hole when tighten and provides a way to absorb vibration.

X2! Love bolt depot! Good prices, big selection of pretty much whatever you're looking for, and fast delivery. My Chevelle & 57 Delray have got to know Bolt Depot quite well over the past few years!
