Seneca house batteries / chassis batteries charge system

Have a 2018 Seneca, going down the road the chassis batteries reads 13.8, when plugged in to shore power house batteries read out 13.4 on inverter digital. when going down the road, read out reads 12.6. we have new batteries, house batteries were charged up, so when I go down the road I went from 12.6 to 12.4 and nothing was on. I am trying to understand the chassis battery charging and the house batteries charging system as well.

When I went to turn off inverter, according to manual of holding bottom for a sec, digital status read out according to book being off , but it did not turn off inverter. This was indicated by the microwave clock read out was still on.

I was informed that you can not turn off inverter, you have to turn off the main house battery switch to turn off inverter?

So can someone explain what is going on so I can get full use of chassis and house batteries.
