Significant Slide noise

Jayco Seneca 37 TS 2018 has 3 slides. Slide #1 is the largest and is on the drivers side of the coach. It makes a loud squeaking or rubbing kind of sound both extending & retracting. I have been careful to make sure the coach is level before operating the slides. I have opened the hatch & watched the gears as the slide operates & can see no binding problem. I have lubricated the mechanisms. Does anyone have an idea of the problem & its fix

I have a class C sometimes if you do not treat the seals they will squeak, I use the seal lube spray

As long as you follow the correct procedures for extending and retracting and don't hear really unusual noises such as metal grinding or snapping it's just "the nature of the beast".

We have owned many motorhomes with slides and have developed 'an ear' for anything unusual.

My Seneca HJ did the same. The factory guys gave me some very light oil to spray on the main gears and the entire length of The geared rail. No more noise. Because it very light oil I have to repeat when it starts making noise again.

Is the oil a labeled commercial product we can purchase?

Use motorcycle chain oil :-). Messy but works extremely well for metal on metal parts. Seal conditioner on seals.

Page 9 talks about lubing noisy gear packs. This is on a lippert through frame slideout

My TS can be pretty loud at times. In the cold it really make a racket. I spray the seal and the rack and gear and it quiets right down. Seams to be louder going out then coming in. I stood there with the technician at the dealer and he said it was normal and was about average sound and did not hear anything to be concerned about.

The only lube recommended by the slide manufacturer is 'CRC Power Lube with PTFE' This quieted down both of my slides where all I can hear is the motors running, where as before I also had the squeaking and popping. Heat up the applicator straw tube and put a 90º bend in it, apply from outside top and bottom behind the rubber seal where the load bearing is. Curving the tube makes it much easier to get the product in the correct spot. Do not use to much, a 2 second spray is plenty, then move the slide out and in at once. I use it twice a year so one can will last for many years, be sure to shake the can well before application. I got mine on Amazon HERE.
