This is a non-issue. I just can't imagine why any mods would be necessary....

Age and experience bring wisdom. When one realizes that their life span is nearing the end, one tends to try to simplify things to make life easier. "Hassle elimination" and "no hassle" should be life goals, especially in these trying times.

No need to fix something that presents no hassle in the first place. Nevertheless, since we all find problems in different things, then sources of mods are a good thing.

@OhBugger Nice and thank you for sharing!!

Great Mod, I want to do this to my 154 Baja this weekend. Do you recall what type of screw you used to install table side into trailer? Did you apply liquid nails or anything to screws before setting?

This is a great idea for us 145RB owners too. The one thing I dislike about our 145RB is the dinette. If it was just me, I'd leave it as a bed all the time. My wife likes to set it up as a dinette in the morning.

Thanks for posting this. It's something I'm going look into.

Table mod

I also appreciated the design for the dinette table modification. I used 3/4” walnut-veneer plywood and used a 1/8” slot cutter to rout for the tee-moulding. Walnut stain, 3 coats poly, 300 grit after each poly coating.

This is genius at work! This is exactly the kind of mod I hoped to find by joining this forum, thank you! We love the simplicity of our 145rb, but hate the table too. We’ve experimented with a few different single bed arrangements, but still like the big bed at the end. This table solution is the best!

Thank you! ( I’ll relay the genius comment to my wife immediately!) In hindsight, I should have notched the first segment to allow for the dinette cushions to fit without being squeezed when the table is upright. Seen on my photo if you look closely.

Got the plywood today. Homedepot cut it for me and it looks great. Since all the plywood now costs an arm and a leg, I went with 3/4” birch pre-finished. It’s quite pretty, if a bit too light. We may stain it to a darker color,if possible. My back and pinched fingers thank you.

sanded the cut edges and put it together today. works like a charm and it looks good too. a few details yet to do, cut off the front corners or round them and put a veneer tape around the edge. I'm not entirely used to the look of the light wood, but sure do love the way it folds down and lifts up so effortlessly. I used one of the pair of legs from the original table, and it is exactly right.

Good job. I used an angle grinder to cut the piano hinge sections.

Can you guys recommend a different foldable leg? Amazon and others seem to be out of stock. Hmm.

This should work: https://www.amazon.com/Zebra-RV-TABL.../dp/B019QGRGYQ

I prefer the non-adjustable legs. Cut-to-size and be done with it. But I'm sure that will work just fine too.

Here's another option.

Good luck!

Hi, Thanks for sharing your table modification. I want to do the same in our 154BH. I'm curious about the table forward movement when in the up position. What is it that keeps the table from moving forward away from the wall?

The first section of the piano-hinged portion has countersunk screws attached to the existing rails. If the entire 3 sections would straighten and fly forward an additional 6”, it would necessarily elevate at an approximate 45 degree angle but the locking leg would have to slide out about 4” I estimate from trig.

Hi, Do you have some pictures to share of your table set up using the existing legs? Thanks. PS

I used a steel single leg with a button lock/unlock.
