2017 Jay Flight SLX Charger

Is my charger in 2017 Jayflight SLX Baja compatible with lithium batteries? Or AGM or 2 6volt in series for that matter? Is it located behind the fuse panel? Thanks

Without knowing your 2017 trailer model or what charger/power center you have, my best guess would be...

no for the lithium
maybe for the AGM
sure for the 6 volts in series

I didn't open it up but from my manual, it's a WFCO 8375P or 8740P and says which is a 3 stage smart charger.

WFCO’s three-stage battery charging results in longer battery life and is totally automatic. Nominal voltage output modes are a 13.2 VDC range “float” mode, 13.6 VDC range “absorption” charge mode, and a 14.4 VDC range “bulk” charge mode.

Seems like AGM batteries like a little higher charging - I read this on century battery site - Absorption 14.6-14.8, Float 13.2 - 13.8.

Maybe it would be Ok for AGM but not perfect?

Did you mean WFCO 8735P? Neither the 8735P or 8740P will charge lithium, you would need the WFCO WF-8735LiS or WF-8740LiS or another brand that is lithium compatible.
As far as the AGM, I don't know how well your charger will do with them, but this is a quote from WFCO's site...
"Deep-cycle batteries are recommended. They can be either of the Lead-Acid or AGM type."

Yes sorry, the panel says "WF-8735" and the manual said 8735P or 8740P; I didn't know which I had until I checked the panel.

Looks like it could be Ok for the Renogy AGM batteries I'm looking at

Charge Voltage
Cycle use: 14.4-15V
Float use:13.5-13.8V

I guess I was dreaming about the Lithiums for now, maybe if I didn't have to change controllers (which is attached to the panel), etc. so I will have to live with the tongue weight.

Does anyone have experience with Renogy batteries? I am looking at those and Trojan T-105s, or just some more inexpensive 6V batteries (Centennial 2200).

Still thinking about this, I can't get over the tongue weight of the lithium batteries. I know I could replace the full panel and integrated charger/controller, but what about disconnecting the integrated converter/charger and bypassing with another one? How difficult what that be? The charger would have to be accessible because they have their own fuse. Anyone done this or have a better idea? http://wfcoelectronics.com/wp-conten...tor-Manual.pdf
