24rbs water line question

I'm removing the outside kitchen so I can use the space for more storage. Anyone know what these two valves are for and what position they should be in?Click image for larger version

They appear to be low point drains: Pull up to open and push down to close.

Are you familiar with the purpose of low point drains (I agree with old man AZ assessment of your photo)? If not, we can help. If so, and you need to remove them from their current location, be sure to relocate them and not remove entirely.

I'm keeping them there. I was just curious. I thought they might be low point drains but wasn't sure.

DancingPossums,

Great mod and provides plenty of extra storage space.

I did the same with my 24RBS...........

I removed the two sink water lines (installed couple Sharkbite fittings) so that I didn't have to deal with winterizing the lines plus it opened up little more space. I also removed the white in-line p-trap and capped off the opening.

I left the hot/cold low-point lines/valves in the same place because they are easy to access when needed.

Bob,
I got the idea from your thread.
I also replaced the tiny bathroom faucet today. One of the rubber seals on the supply line connectors got buggered up so I need to get another one.

I'm sure your replacement faucet is much more user friendly than the original

If it's the rubber seal used with the OEM plastic PEX connectors it sounds like the "cone seal" if it looks like this (one on the right):

I keep a few on hand because they are normally good for a single compression, then they loose their integrity. The cone seal on the left was my "new" toilet connection that I replaced. RV dealers sell them but note that there are different size cone seals to select from.

The PEX lines/connectors that you removed from your outside kitchen sink I "believe" are the same size as your bathroom sink connectors......, should also be the same size cone seal that may be good for spares (?).

Yep. They are the one on the right. The outside connections are different. They are black and recessed.

Did you buy yours from an RV dealer? I can't find them at Home Depot or ACE Hardware. I can get close but not the exact same one.

DancingPossums,

Yes, purchased at a RV dealer.

There are a couple different styles/sizes so take your bad cone seal with you (pic of connector may help). If the parts tech is sharp he will know which cone seal is for specific PEX connector/fittings.

I'm going to have to take the connector off too. I stripped the threads on it. The new faucet has brass threads. Not plastic ones like the original. Got the pex clamp off but the barb on the connector is in there tight!

RV dealers also sell plastic replacement fittings/connectors for PEX tubing...., I keep an assortment of them in my TT spare parts box (elbows, straight in-line, etc.). I also keep a couple feet of 1/2" PEX on hand.

"Flair-It" is the brand name of the plastic fittings/connectors, whats great you don't need any expansive PEX crimping tools to use them. Just a clean, square cut of the PEX and push the Flair-It connector over the PEX and lightly tighten the threaded collar.

Flair-It elbow (cone seal included):

Flair-It, common RV connectors starts on page 10: http://leggettsupply.wpengine.com/wp...022218-web.pdf

SharkBite brass fittings/connectors for PEX tubing is another option, but a little pricey (big box stores, hardware, etc.).
