Question A/C leave on or off

We live in our new 2020 Bungalow 40RLTS outside of Las Vegas(summer temps about 105-110) ,but are traveling in our 2016 Jayco 29RKS travel trailer. We will be gone a month or 2. Should we leave electric on and run A/C at highest temp(90°) while we are gone? Or should we shut air off but leave residential refrigerator running? TIA

Personally, I would turn it off.

I have friends that winter in the area. They drop a little mineral oil (not veggie oil) down the drains to keep the water from evaporating. They also fill 5 gallon buckets full of water. They are all empty by the following fall when they return.

Years ago we had a Condo in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Summer temps in the 115-120’s were common. We were there when the record of 128 was set. We used it on weekends and summer vacations. We always set the AC to maintain 90 or so while were were gone. Our fugal neighbors left their AC off to save money. When they returned after their first summer they discovered warped doors that wouldn’t close. Their AC also didn’t work and neither did their dishwasher...not sure if the heat had anything to do with it. The next summer they left the AC on through the summer.

Leave the A/C on and set at 84 degrees. You will not come home to any mildew. Humidity will stay down to about 55% which is where you want it. We leave the fridge off and the door open.

Like Cavie we leave ours on in Florida to prevent mold and excessive humidity inside.

My RV is in MA. My home is in FL. I'll be at my RV in one week for 4 months.
