AirswitchRV .... it works!

The temps hit near 80 degrees this weekend here in SW Ontario, so we were camping and finally got to test out the Auto Off Switch on our SLX A/C. It works .... shut the unit off when the compressor shut off, and on when the compressor went back on. There is a way to adjust the manual thermostat settings, so when i figure it out .... it should be great! No more constant A/C running.

Is this for the 2nd A/C or just the main cabin? I believe my Coleman Mach 15 shuts off automatically when it reaches the thermos setting already. I KNOW the 2nd A/C in the MB ROARS constantly when it's on and that's an issue I'd be interested in solving.

You have a regular Jay Flight. The OP has an SLX model that doesn't have a thermostat control for the AC.

Wait a minute. You mean they sell travel trailers that do not have a thermostat for the A/C, just on/off?! I honestly cant hardly believe it.

That is pretty bad.. Even our little side-mount A/C has a simple "econ" mode that shuts it off when the set point is reached.

The cheaper, mostly non-ducted units have a rudimentary thermostat built into the plenum that cycles the compressor while the fan runs continuously.

.... as stated above, the unit has a thermostat, which shuts the compressor off when desired temp is met .... what it doesn't do is shut off the fan/blower, so the fan is continuously running. This kit shuts the fan off when your desired temp is met, and compressor shuts off....than back on again. What it also does is shuts the blower off even when you are just running the fan, not A/C, when temp is reached!

Sounds like a good idea and something I could really use.
