If you look at my signature you will see I have had my times with almost all types of RV. Each one has its advantages and disadvantages over each other. As the general theme of comments seems to indicate, it will come down to your lifestyle, what you need, what you want, and finally what you will settle for.
I went from a TT to a slide in cabover to a 5'er. When I went to the 5er I had no regrets. It definitely towed nicer, it was easier to back up and unhook and hook up. Yet, I hunt a LOT! (which means boondocking off the grid) and being limited on bed usage meant loading things around the hitch and only bed high. Everything else had to go inside the 5er. Once out at hunt camp removing pins and removing the hitch was not really a big deal. However, I was willing to settle for that.
Now we have a TT and I don't regret not getting a 5er again one bit. I have more boondocking versatility, I have the full use of my truck bed and can stack stuff above the bed rails which means nothing inside the TT. On the down side, I have less maneuverability (which sometimes in backcountry can mean a long slow and arduous backing up process), it doesn't tow quite as nice, etc. However, it all fits us for now.
In the end, once your set up in a campground with hook ups or out in the backcountry, and you go inside everything is the same in the most basic sense. Refrigerators, ovens, stoves, toilets, water heaters etc., are all made by the same companies. It boils down to what amenities your particular RV's trim package has.
