Battery Disconnect Pics?

Want to add a total battery disconnect to my 21 White Hawk 29BHOK since the factory disconnect doesn't seem to be very effective (battery is getting killed when it sits).

Looking for some ideas (ideally pics) of good installs for battery disconnects. Where's a good place to mount? Where should I tap into leads?

Thanks in advance.

-Tim

No pics right now but I mounted mine to the battery box itself. Quick and easy.

I use the same ones we use in our boats. Select 1, 2, both or off. You can isolate each battery.

This one is dead simple, just unscrew a couple turns or even take all the way out. $6 to 8 , walmart, Amazon, anywhere. Several versions that connect in different ways. Solid brass.

Yes, used these many times in the past, good advise. Mount the switch as close to the batteries as possible in a conveniently accessible place.

@RogerR battery terminal disconnect works great as well for a simple single battery disconnect.

I had the dealer do mine after we bought it. It’s on the A-frame close to the battery.

I used the same as Lucky Duck, but I put the shut off on the Negative Cable. Only one cable on that terminal, so breaking it, completely stops any parasitic drain.

I used the one in post#4 on the negative side. That way it eliminates arcing/sparking. It was a bit inconvenient when attached to the post on the battery because of the necessary removal of the plastic battery cover every time I wanted to connect-disconnect.

Thank you @LuckyDuck. Very helpful. This is kind of what I was thinking but helpful to see in practice. Is it screwed directly to frame then?

Yes, just self-tapping screws. Works perfectly and there is no drain whatsoever in the batteries. I have a 12-volt LCD voltmeter plugged into the receptacle behind the television to measure charge. When the switch is off, it’s off.
