Black water tank sensor

Howdy!
First let me open with a friendly hello and thanks for all the useful replies! I live in my rv full time and have the trailer hooked up all the time. I treat my tank with Rv digest it (comes in a white and green bottle) and the black tank stays closed unless we are dumping. Today was the first time we dumped with our new rv. It came gushing out like a fire hose for about a minute. I went inside and my sensor only read 2/3 full. However, nothing else was exiting. I filled tank up with a bunch of water and extra rv digest it with the plan to flush and clean the tank in a day or so. Why would the sensor read 2/3? We don’t flush toilet paper and we use proper cleaning procedures. After flushing today prior to filling with water I notice the sewer smell coming from the deep dark. Any tips on how to keep the stink down and get my sensor to read empty?

The only way I know how to get them to read correctly is replace them with the better ones. Notoriously unreliable. I just learned the sound of the toilet when flushed to know when it is almost full.
