Brake Pedal "Sticking"

When I hooked up my Travel Trailer this morning and left the storage area the brake pedal, when pressed down, would stick for a moment, and then release. I am not sure if this might be the controller, or a result of having just adjusted the brakes. I have a Prodigy brake controller and am pulling a Jayco 23MRB. Any ideas? This did not occur before I hooked up the TT. Thanks.

The controller only sends electrical current to your trailer brakes. It has nothing to do with your TV brakes. It would make no difference if trailer is connected or not

Sounds more like the trailer brakes are hanging up, maybe something wrong with the controller. Try turning the controller all the way down and see if you get the sticky brakes feeling

I would get a light and look at the brake pedal area. Do you have a wire that is getting tangled up in the pedal or pinched in the pedal mechanism? Also could be a little bit of insulation.

There is no way the Prodigy would cause sticking, but it's wiring might.

Thanks, I am working on it. No mechanical hang-up, no wires in the way and nothing interfering with pedal movement. It only occurs when TT is connected so I will follow Sudancers suggestion and test the electrical on the brakes tomorrow. When I did more investigating today it felt as though TT brakes had a very short delay when releasing. And, it does affect TV brake pedal, if I lift the pedal with the other foot, no issue. And, thanks to all of you for your help.

Your controller is not set correctly, or is sticking, when you lift the pedal you are turning off the trailer brakes; to prove this disconnect the trailer plug and try the brakes

Final Post: I wanted to thank all of you for your help. Took out the TT in the yard today to try and solve the problem. Turned off the controller and problem went away. Reset the controller and everything works fine. My guess is that I somehow hit the variance dial and while the manual stop worked as usual the controller was set too high. Haven't had much "interaction" with the controller so this was a good lesson for me. Even though the numbers looked right, best to set the controller each time at the beginning of a trip.
